A few years back my Mom and Dad starting having a "dessert night" at Christmas for us siblings. I'm pretty sure It started because our normal family gathering had gotten (wonderfully) overrun with all of our kids! So, we have our family get-together on boxing day, and an adult night with delightful meats and cheeses, desserts and games on another night. Tonight is that night! So, I thought I would post about a yumm-diddly pie that is not the least bit "festive", but it is sure to become a favorite! I have made a few different types of s'more pie, but this one is nice and simple, and turns out great every time. I use chocolate bars in the bottom chocolate layer to add some extra flavour, and to add some different texture too. I used Mr. Big today (because our local bulk store had them), but Kit Kat, Oh Henry, and Snickers bars are really good in here too. Let me tell you about this crust. It's no ordinary graham crust of butter and graham crumbs. No, no, no....the crust is like a crisp outside, soft inside homemade graham cookie. It is dee-lightful! S'More Chocolate Bar Pie Ingredients:
Method: 1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease 9″ pie pan with baking spray or butter. 2. Mix flour, baking powder and graham crumbs together, set aside. 3. In a large bowl beat butter and sugar together until combined, then add egg and vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients. 4. Divide the dough in half. Press half the dough in the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pie pan. 5. Evenly spread the Marshmallow Creme over the bottom crust. 6. Spread chopped chocolate bars (or chocolate chips if that's what you're using) over the mallow creme. 7. Sprinkle 1 cup of marshmallows on top of all that. 8. Using the rest of the crust mixture, take small amounts and squish it a bit, and pat it down over the pie. It's ok. to have some gaps. 9. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup chocolate chips. 10. Bake 20 minutes until lightly browned. Once cooked, let cool completely before cutting into it. You need the mallow fluff to set a bit. So, looks good, eh? It is! I hope you get a chance to whip this up for something you're going to, or just because you want to make it and try it! Have a great weekend!

I'm not sure, to be honest. I don't see why you couldn't, but I've never tried! Worst case scenario try don't get gooey enough, but all those ingredients still equal something yummy! :)

Hi there! You can make your own "marshmallow creme" by following this recipe:

I'm not sure why the dough would have been sticky? As long as everything listed has been added it should still taste good, you may just need to put flour on your hands to divide the dough and press it into the bottom of the pie plate. You could also try adding more graham crumbs, a tablespoon or two at a time until the dough holds better and is no longer sticky. I'm sorry it's giving you trouble! :(

I suppose you could, but you still need to make the topping for the pie which is the same as the crust. If you're making it for the top I would make it for the bottom too as it really is so very de-lish! If you still want to use a store bought graham crust, go for it, then just halve the crust/topping part of the recipe so you've just got enough for the top.

I think I would bake both mini pies first, then when you're ready for the second one take it out and let it thaw completely, then put it into the oven for a few minutes to warm it up.

In step 3, do I use a whisk to beat the butter and sugar together or a hand held electronic mixer?

Hi! Either a whisk or an electric hand mixer will work, just so long as the butter and sugar get well mixed before moving on.

Hey there! Step 3 at the end says to "stir in the dry ingredients", that's the graham mixture you already made. Sorry about that, it does seem a little cryptic now that someone has said they couldn't find it! I hope this snag doesn't keep you from trying to make it! You will be happy you did!

I wonder if this would work making it with Gluten Free Products? I think I will try it and I'll let you know how it turns out. Might make it for our Super Bowl party.

Did you use only chocolate bars for the first layer, or chocolate bars and chocolate chips?

The Gluten Free version was so good. My daughter even tweeted about being in heaven. :) I found GF graham crackers and it worked perfectly. I just used chocolate chips, but next time I will try some kind of candy bar that's GF. I know its hard to believe, but there was almost too much chocolate using all chocolate chips and was EXTREMELY rich. Great recipe though....will definitely be a favorite in our house. Next time I'm going to try making it as bars in a square pan. Thanks for posting it!

Think this would be good with nutella instead of the chocolate bar?

I think Nutella would taste good in the pie (because it's just delisious!), but it may make it quite messy as you'd then have mallow fluff and Nutella in there. If you don't have chocolate bar to use I would just use more chocolate chips instead.
